Necklace No. N100902 and New Website

Posted in Color, Digital, Jewelry on October 27, 2009 by Lola M.

This is the necklace most recently uploaded to my website I’ve been working on. So far I only have some of my jewelry pieces up, I don’t have any photography works there, yet. I would love it if you could take some time to check out the site and let me know what you think about it and my work at this stage: www.SacredCuriosities.com

N100902a

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now,
cause there’s too many places I’ve got to see.

N100902 (3)a

But please don’t take it badly,
cause Lord knows I’m to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldn’t be the same.
Cause I’m as free as a bird now,
And this bird you’ll never change.
And this bird you can not change.

Simple Viewpoint

Trying to get back into the swing of things, hit something of a road bump in life. These are some photos from a while back that I shot with my vintage Minolta Hi-Matic from my vantage point on the back of a Harley. If you’ve ridden then you know how it can feel as if time has stopped, there’s no sense of urgency, everything seems to be reduced to the simplest of elements. When matters are complicated, simplicity is a welcome comfort.

“Take your time… don’t live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.”

10-22-09 (2)

“Be something you love and understand.
Be a simple kind of man.
Won’t you do this for me son,
If you can?”

10-22-09 (3)

“Forget your lust for the rich man’s gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.”

Free Antique Ephemera: Charity Postcard

Posted in Antiques, Color, Vintage/Antique Ephemera on October 7, 2009 by Lola M.

This is an antique postcard of mine depicting one of the three Christian Graces: Hope, Faith, and Charity. I knew I had to share this when I came across similar Hope and Faith cards shared on this site. So now I have images of all three.

This is the back of the postcard, dated 1910. Its message from a young boy to his papa is so endearing.
